Job Description

The Transportation Analyst under the direction of the Area Transportation Manager is responsible for the ongoing administration of key transportation processes in alignment with standard operating procedures. Transportation Analyst will assist with and facilitate operating relationships between the RDC team, Ryder Logistics and Ryder Maintenance assuring KPI and service metrics are met. Key activities will include the oversight of daily processes and compliance with focus of driving continuous improvement. Additional daily data processing duties and clerical support will be required to maintain compliance with all DOT regulations and supporting standard procedures in support of True Value facility operating needs.

Position Description

  • Communicates between RDC management team, Ryder on site management team, Ryder dedicate shop and RSC assuring the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of retailer on time deliveries and vendor pick-ups. Assuring 3PL transportation business provider is meeting and exceeding expectations in support of continuous improvement.
  • Review daily route generation done by RDC dynamic routing to balance maximizing cube utilization and maintaining customer service level expectations.
  • Performs Data Processing clerical functions daily: invoice processing, bulk fuel tracking, internal and external calls to customers and vendors and as assigned by ATM.
  • Perform analysis using a variety of tools to solve transportation related business problems for implementation and improvement.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 1-3 years of related experience
  • Persuasive communication skills 
  • Independent thinking and action based 
  • Works effectively under tight deadlines 
  • Good organizational skills 
  • Strong reasoning and analytical ability
