Job Description

The Senior Transportation Analyst is responsible for combining a strong analytical skill set, process knowledge, and overall functional knowledge with strong communication skills demonstrated through the ongoing support of one or more key areas/relationships and/or projects within the transportation function. Responsible to develop and execute forward looking planning, analytical, and performance monitoring tools. The Senior Analyst is responsible to manage the Small Parcel spend and transportation projects to a desired outcome and make recommendations/implement performance standards and improvements. The Senior Analyst is responsible to identify and execute ongoing transportation programs and projects that focus on improving service and lowering cost.

Position Description

  • Program Management - In partnership with Manager and overall strategy, responsible for day to day administration and oversight of a given mode/application and the associated service and financial performance of that area in alignment with functional goals. This includes the facilitation of monthly/quarterly business reviews.
  • Projects - In partnership with key internal stakeholders, responsible for the identification, execution and implementation of projects focused on improving service and lowering cost across areas of focus (mode).
  • Responsible to support ongoing commercial bid activity reviews for areas of focus including leading administrative aspect of bid activities including pulling historical data, creating/analyzing baseline, supporting strategy development, carrier negotiations, ad hoc analysis, and program implementation.
  • Responsible to utilize experience and communication skills to drive best transportation solutions evaluating cost/service in support of cross functional activities such as emergency expedites, weather related emergencies, member facing emergencies, etc.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Type and Years of Related Experience Required:

  • Minimum three years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Federal and State transportation regulations
  • Must be proficient in MS Office products - MS Excel, Powerpoint and Word
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Strong analytical background

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field (Merchandising, Supply Chain, Engineering) or equivalent experience
