Job Description

The Regional Sales Representative has the overall responsibility for consulting and increasing business for True Value Rental’s locations within their assigned territory. This role is designed to actively build True Value's Rental’s market-share and insure members are delivering brand standards while striving to grow new business by adding new rental businesses to the program. Responsible for sourcing and selling True Value Rental members by becoming the “supplier of choice” for their Rental needs. This position requires a 'hunter' who can grow share of wallet with existing rental members as well as sign new rental businesses within the territory. This position has sales responsibility for 85 True Value Rental members in the southeast United States and will reside in the Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, or Dallas area.

Position Description

Conduct quarterly business reviews with rental members within the territory to analyze current store sales and profitability. Develop and assist in the execution of business plans that identify specific measurable actions to improve the ongoing business operations.

Lead and facilitate the merchandising recommendation for each member. This includes working with each member to sell planograms specific to their business.

Define product/fleet recommendations suited for the marketplace along with implementation plans for each member location. Provide the Members with product/equipment knowledge, programs, services and benchmarks related to the same.

Prospect and collaborate with Rental Sales Manager and Retail Operations team regarding all store expansions/remodels, relocations, branch stores, investors and conversions. Add new Rental members to contribute to the overall member retention goal for assigned territory.

Sell the value of sourcing from True Value via True Value's Regional Distribution Centers (RDC) and negotiated Drop Ship programs.

Grow Rental sales to a level that meets our annual company goals and/or specific territory and Rental department goals.

Deliver competitive product and wholesale information to Rental Product Merchants to ensure that the TV program remains competitive.

Collaborate with the Rental Director, Rental Sales Manager, & Merchandising Team to develop and implement retention plans for key markets including alternative action plans for any “at risk” members.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Type and Years of Related Experience Required:

  • Three to five years of related experience required
  • Rental Sales and/or operations management experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of party and event rental operations preferred
  • 60% Travel covering 10-12 states
  • Ability to read and understand income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements
Minimum Education Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
