Job Description

The Regional Commercial Sales Representative has the overall responsibility for consulting and increasing business for Induserve Supply Maintenance Repair & Operations (MRO) Distributors within their assigned territory. This role is designed to actively build True Value's Induserve Supply MRO market-share while striving to grow new business by adding new distributors to the program. Responsible for sourcing and selling Induserve Supply distributors by becoming the “supplier of choice” for their MRO needs. Sales opportunities include warehouse and Direct Ship sales to fulfill inventory demands for replenishment, bid, and contract businesses. This position requires a 'hunter' who can grow share of wallet with existing distributors as well as sign new distributors within the territory. This position has sales responsibility for 45 distributors in the Western United States and will reside in the Chicago, Houston, Denver, or Los Angeles area.

Position Description

  • Sell the value of sourcing from True Value via True Value's Regional Distribution Centers (RDC) and negotiated Drop Ship programs.
  • Deliver program recommendations, marketing campaigns and advertising recommendations that support commercial sales growth.
  • Using our Regional Distribution Center's inventory as the base, build wholesale options using alliance partners, True Value's Direct Ship vendor programs and all other resources to meet the distributors customers’ demands.
  • Grow MRO sales to a level that meets our annual company goals and/or specific territory and MRO department goals.
  • Prospect and secure leads via Industry contacts, commercial listings and alliance partner resources. Add new Induserve Supply Distributors and True Value retailers to contribute to the overall member retention goal for assigned territory.
  • Provide the Members with product knowledge, marketing tools including line cards and MRO catalogs, programs, services and benchmarks related to the same. Deliver competitive product and wholesale information to MRO Product Merchant/Buyer to ensure the TV program remains competitive.
  • Collaborate with the MRO Business Manager, Merchandising Team and MRO staff to develop and implement retention plans for key markets including alternative action plans for any “at risk” distributors.
  • Travel - 60%

Position Qualifications

Minimum Type and Years of Related Experience Required:

  • Three to five years of related experience required
  • Other Industry/Discipline Experience: Advertising, Compliance, Finance, Marketing, Merchandising, Retail, Sales, Supply Chain and Wholesale preferable
  • Extensive travel covering ten states
  • Ability to influence others consistently
  • Ability to read and understand Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Statements
  • Knowledge of Wholesale Distribution
Minimum Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
