This position is responsible for the strategic development of marketing and advertising plans designed to increase both wholesale and retail sales of True Value's private label paint line as well as engaging /acquiring retailers to carry True Value's paint offering, increasing adoption of the new color center and generating enhanced participation in key programs. The Paint Marketing Manager will have past experience in a paint manufacturing / sales environment and will lead all functions associated with the development of strategic B2B and B2C go-to-market plans designed to support True Value's paint line. The Paint Marketing Manager will ensure seamless execution across all channels, campaign analysis, performance reporting, budgeting and forecasting to increase retail sales of True Value's paint portfolio.

Financial Responsibilities:

Position Description

Create, implement, track and analyze wholesale and retail go-to-market plans for True Value's paint line and other relevant paint category products based on research and key performance indicators: wholesale revenue, retail sales, margin growth, increased Retailer and customer engagement, etc. Develop integrated marketing plans on annual basis (segmented monthly) to drive both wholesale and retail sales of True Value paint products and offers. Works closely with Wholesale and Retail Marketing Managers to ensure alignment on strategic plans and that effective push / pull tactics are being leveraged. This role will have responsibility for managing budgets and spending plans.

Determine new campaign program objectives, establish and track metrics, understand variances and make program decisions based on results. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure campaigns and strategies are generating planned return on investment (ROI). Monitor the marketplace, competitive landscape, industry trends, and third party data sources to constantly identify new marketing opportunities and / or potential threats.

Interface with True Value Manufacturing, Merchandising, Channel Management, Creative and Business Analytics teams on an ongoing basis to forecast and monitor customer behavior and lifetime value across various campaign segments; run daily and weekly marketing performance reports (including predictive models); execute ad hoc analyses, as needed, to uncover strategic opportunities; research and assist in the selection and installation of data mining and analytics tools for reporting and analysis.

Oversee Marketing Coordinators on the management of production and deployment schedules of campaigns and assets throughout their lifecycles, coordinating as necessary with channel marketing managers, creative managers, product merchants, growth / sales teams, etc.

Work with Creative, Corporate Communications and other in-house and third party resources (Copywriters, Graphic Designers, Web Developers) throughout the development lifecycle to produce creative assets.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Type and Years of Related Experience Required:

  • Five to seven years of related experience required
  • Experience in paint manufacturing / sales environment
  • Ability to develop objectives / strategies to drive sales and margin growth
  • Retail and/or Wholesale experience preferred

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
