Job Description

The Office Manager/Systems Administrator will manage overall office procedures and supervise office personnel. They will maintain a safe work environment, and train and support policy and procedure compliance within the Corsicana RDC Office. This person will directly manage customer service, data processing, safety records, HR, payroll/time and attendance, record keeping, and asset protection by supporting clerical procedures on a daily basis.

In addition, this position supports, analyzing, and evaluating Regional Distribution Center (RDC) business systems and user needs. Primary focus is True Value's Warehouse Management System (eg Automated Distributions System known as ADS). Provides support for existing Logistics applications and assists RDC Operations Manager in the coordination for and implementation of tactical projects, including ADS leveraged and distribution optimization projects. Job requires equal knowledge of distibution system applications and RDC operations. Coordination between multiple shift operations.

Position Description

  • Manage workflow within the office to support warehouse performance. 
  • Supervise, support and review associate performance in the department. 
  • Work closely with Operations Manager, Area Transportation Manager, and Associates to ensure quality, and accuracy of daily work, and completion of projects on time. 
  • Work directly with Associates to establish and foster an atmosphere of high employee morale through an active, fair and consistent implementation of policy and procedure. 
  • Actively involved in employee training and cross-training. 
  • Follow-up on Member, Customer and Corporate communications. 
  • Foster an environment of cooperation and commitment to continuous improvement. 
  • Work with vendors for services and office supplies. 
  • Manages and supports the Automated Distribution System (ADS) for a regional distribution center. Responsible for system configuration,system functionality covering all aspects of warehousing operations from receiving, stocking, order picking, replenishment prioritization, inventory cycle counting, delivery and labor standards.
  • Directs and implements ADS functional modules designed to optimize RDC operational efficiencies.Performs problem resolution in the areas of system functionality, operating software, and the hardware elements within ADS.
  • Constantly analyzes and researches the RDC Inbound and Outbound operations for the purpose of improving the process flows within the ADS environment, working with RDC management teams to facilitate productivity and efficiencies.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and effectively communicates user requests and proposed business system changes.
  • Works with RDC management team to optimize the physical layout of the RDC… including bin sizing, section design, and the associated coordination, scheduling, and tracking . Manages associates assigned to these projects; reconfigures system requirements to coordinate with changes
  • Manages the inventory of ADS equipment, coordinating repairs, troubleshooting issues with handheld devices
  • Responsible for ongoing training of True Value's Warehouse Management System (ADS) for both management and and hourly associates
  • Meets with peer Systems Administrators to develop ADS opportunities and address problem resolution. In addition, is responsible for periodic WEBINAR presentations.
  • Meets regularly with the RDC Operations Manger to review and discuss new projects and assignments. Reports status of existing projects and assignments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and work experience in the logistics area. 
  • Experience in budgetary and financial controls. 
  • A minimum of 2 years prior office, distribution, warehouse or logistics experience. 
  • Proven leadership in comparable environment with focus on business acumen, team-building, and strategic alignment with corporate goals. 
  • Ability to learn new systems, inventory controls, and ADS administration. 
  • PC Skills: Working knowledge of MS Office Programs and Windows Programs (Access a plus) 
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written. 
  • Decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills are a must.
