Position Description

Strategy and Process Design:

Furthermore, the owner will outline how the S&OP process will align with already-existing processes, such as annual operating budget processes, strategic planning or short-term customer fulfillment.
  • Define the S&OP subprocesses. Develop the collection of subprocesses that culminate in an agreed-upon S&OP plan that's finalized in the executive S&OP meeting. The typical subprocesses are demand review, supply review and financial review. The S&OP Leader will work across the organization with the subprocess representatives to ensure that their current process practices are well-aligned with the goals of the overall S&OP process. For example, the S&OP Leader will work with the growth organization to map how the customers' demand signals are collected and communicated to the demand planners, as well as how the statistical forecast is incorporated in the demand-planning process.
  • Design the format and goals of the S&OP meeting. The S&OP Leader will define what makes for a successful meeting. This includes premeeting preparation, a template for the agenda, the required participants, the escalation and resolution process, and the expected outcomes.

  • Identify the S&OP team and the required resources. The leader will determine the required roles to roll out a successful S&OP process and identify the specific resources to fill these roles. The S&OP team will include full-time resources, such as a dedicated S&OP coordinator.
