Job Description

The Digital/E-Commerce Program Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, enhancements and ongoing support of as well as other consumer and store-facing digital programs (B2B). This includes overseeing the entire project delivery lifecycle.

A customer-centered approach will be followed, creating relevant and useful experiences for both for our Do It Yourself customers and independent, store-owner customers. This includes delivering a more personalized and relevant experience using personalization and marketing automation tools.

The person in this role will work closely with internal and external partners including: Digital marketing, content, creative, merchandising, site experience, web analytics, business analysts, developers, architects, customer service, supply chain and third party point solutions. New solutions will be evaluated based on business need and corresponding business cases will be created.

Overall, the Program Manager champions the needs of our collective customers (B2C and B2B) throughout the execution of our digital programs, ensuring that what is delivered meets business goals and objectives.

Position Description

Implement Strategic Roadmap:

Oversee product delivery lifecycle including: Discovery, Requirements, Solution/Design, Create, Test and Activate activities. Prioritize and manage future releases. Ensure deliverables meet product acceptance standards and that they are on budget and on time. Support post-launch change management efforts as needed, diagnose, prioritize and correct any issues. Manage multiple concurrent projects in various phases.

Maintain Current Programs:

Identify bugs, small enhancements, version updates, compliance needs, etc. working with customer experience, analytics, customer service and our store user community. Create, prioritize and schedule into site builds, coordinating with internal and external resources. Use collaborative ticketing and communication tools to manage. Communicate prioritization and delivery of changes to stakeholders as necessary.

Manage Resources:

Manage internal and external resources including internal team, creative/brand support, CX lead, project managers, business analyst, architects, testing team, and third party point solution providers integrated with the site (e-commerce platform provider, product reviews, payment, loyalty program, store locator, etc.). Ensure that third-party solutions are delivering value, meeting SLAs, and are a good fit for future roadmap needs. Lead contract renewal and negotiations in partnership with legal and procurement teams. Manage RFP process for new vendor consideration. Manage to established budget.

Identify Opportunities:

Identify new opportunities and develop business cases for enhancements, process changes, technology solutions, etc. that drive incremental benefit. Keep up with industry trends and best practices within retail (overall) and our direct competition (home improvement).

Major Financial Control Activities:
  • Responsible for generating revenue. Target value of revenue = $30MM+ B2C; $100M+(B2B)
  • Responsible for managing an operational budget. Operational budget value under management = $3MM.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Type and Years of Related Experience Required:

  • Seven to ten years of related experience required
  • Proven E-Commerce experience having delivered and maintained large-scale initiatives
  • Project Management Tools, Project Collaboration and Communication Tools (e.g. MS Project, Atlassian tools such as Confluence, Jira.) required
  • Technical acumen regarding e-commerce technology suite, understanding of large scale integrations (orders, financial, catalog, marketing tools (automation, personalization, etc.)
  • Strong Project/Program Management experience
  • Comfortable working in unchartered territory, building in-house program management capabilities/disciplines/processes
  • Advertising, Retail and Technology experience desirable
Minimum Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Project Management related degree preferred or equivalent work experience
