We have an immediate need a Business Development Specialist to focus on the acquisition of new customers in assigned market.

Primary responsibility involves selling True Value supported product lines into competitive stores, obtaining new lineal footage/selling space for True Value Company. Secondary responsibility involves team selling with Business Development Manager, for full store conversion of competitive stores, making True Value the primary supplier.

Position Description

Establish sales opportunities with new customers.

  • Establish relationships with new customers.
  • Secure commitments from new customers in order to achieve assigned sales quotas and targets.
  • Prospect for potential customers using various direct methods such as calling and face to face meetings, and indirect methods such as networking.
  • Qualify prospects against company criteria for ideal customers and sales.
  • Be a positive representative of the company and its brand in the marketplace.
  • Our Account Management team will then take over each new account, allowing you to continue to do what you do best – presenting our line of products and services to even more new clients.
  • Prospect for and set your own appointments with potential business clients, developing new accounts and further expanding our customer base.
  • Expected to self-generate (hunt) 80-90% of your leads yourself. We'll empower you with lead generation tools to combine with your own creativity and persistent prospecting activities.
  • Team sell with Business Development Manager on full conversion opportunities to True Value, as well as New Investor Opportunities

Provide insight into sales opportunities and achievements.

  • Develop and maintain territory plans which outline how sales targets will be met on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide daily reporting on sales activity through CRM tool, keeping detailed notes on customer engagement and opportunities.
  • Provide forecasts on best case and most likely sales volumes over relevant time periods.
  • Provide feedback to sales management on ways to decrease the sales cycle, enhance sales, and improve company brand and reputation.

Proactively address ongoing client concerns.

  • Work with delivery teams to proactively address problems.
  • Develop account strategies that respond to client pain points and identify cross-selling opportunities.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Type and Years of Related Experience Required:

  • One to three years of related experience required
  • Strong prospecting/cold calling skills required
  • Strong sales experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate
Minimum Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
