Job Description

The Accounting Manager will manage day to day accounting department activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting functions, and monthly close process.  Coordinates and directs the Department staff members to achieve goals.

Position Description

Performs Financial and Various Detail Analysis
•Performs monthly budget vs. actual financial analysis for monthly results.
•Performs monthly account/balance sheet analysis.
•Manages the monthly close process and books necessary journal entries.
•Prepare weekly and monthly reporting packages to support True Value Manufacturing (TVM) and WHQ management.

Performs Financial Reviews:
•Assists Controller with the annual standard cost review.
•Assists in financial and operations reviews.
•Supports the internal and external audit processes, including a quarterly review of fixed assets.
•Assist in the planning and execution of the annual physical inventory and ensure that the established procedures are adhered to.

Directs and Coordinates the Work of Dept. Associates in All Aspects of Accounting.
•Generally responsible for supervising the day to day accounting procedures of the TVM division.
•Creates and/or fosters a leadership environment that is conducive to teamwork and personal/professional growth.
•Defines results for direct reports in support of the strategic business goals.
•Provides training for Staff Accountant and Accounting Clerks to meet strategic business goals.
•Manages the selection, development, review and reward of employees to ensure staff productivity.

Develops and Monitors Accounting Systems, Processes and Procedures

Assists with other special projects.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience. Experience in a manufacturing or industrial company is desirable.
  • MS Office skills including Excel, Word and Access Detail oriented, and ability to multitask
  • Strong accounting experience and familiarity with GAAP
  • Excellent organization, verbal and written skills
