The Senior Business Analyst – International Logistics & Compliance is responsible for combining a strong analytical skill set, process knowledge, and overall functional knowledge with strong communication skills demonstrated through the ongoing support of key areas/relationships within the International Logistics & Compliance function. This role is responsible for developing and executing forward looking planning, analytical, and performance monitoring tools. This role also manages projects, makes improvement recommendations, and implements new performance standards to drive towards improved service, reduced cost, and reduced regulatory risk within the International Logistics function.

Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (in order of importance):

  • International Logistics & Compliance Process Management - In partnership with Manager and 3rd party partners, responsible for day to day administration and oversight of the International Logistics & Compliance processes, and their associated service/financial performance. This includes the facilitation of monthly/quarterly business review, cost/service tracking, forecasts/projections, and regular problem solving/escalations to ensure targeted service and financial performance is achieved.
  • Projects - In partnership with key internal stakeholders, responsible for the identification, execution and implementation of projects focused on improving service, lowering cost, and reducing international regulatory risk (international compliance, C-TPAT) within the International Logistics & Compliance function.
  • Responsible for supporting ongoing commercial ocean carrier bid activity and reviews for International Logistics. Includes activities such as managing overall bid activity (data collection, tracking, analysis), creating/analyzing cost and service baselines, supporting strategy development, direct carrier negotiations on rates, ad hoc analysis, and program implementation. Develop appropriate materials and conduct monthly and quarterly reviews with all carriers and 3rd party providers, identifying and highlighting improvement opportunities.
  • Manage classification of all new items, including items such as: Import HTS (Harmonized Tarriff Schedule), 301 exclusion list (government tariff exclusion lists), and Anti-Dumping/Countervailing item maintenance. Partner with Customs Broker and Global Sourcing to ensure adequate data/information, communication, and documentation of classifications.
  • CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) – Assist with annual revalidation, supplier questionnaire submission, and RDC/RSC training on all CTPAT requirements. Ensure on-going compliance throughout the year. Understand and educate the organization on new/changing requirements, ensuring proactive on-going adherence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

Work Experience:

  • Three to five years of related experience required
  • Work experience in hardware/DIY retail and/or wholesale industry is preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent work experience
