True Value Company, one of the world's largest wholesale distributors of home improvement products with more than 4,000 independent retailers, is looking for an experienced Transportation Analyst - 2nd shift  who is interested in working in an environment that encourages quality, decision making & team work. In this role you will support the Transporation functions at the Wilkes Barre, PA Regional Distribution Center (RDC).

The Transportation Analyst is responsible to foster the ongoing administration of key transportation processes in alignment with standard operating procedures. In parallel the Transportation Analyst is to apply analytical techniques to solve more complex operational issues across the transportation space. The Transportation Analyst performs qualitative and quantitative analysis using a variety of techniques, tools, and frameworks to draw logical conclusions. Key activities could include daily order routing and D-Route maintainance, the oversight of daily processes and/or compliance related activities with a focus on driving continuous improvement. The Transportation Analyst works more frequently, in higher visibility applications with key vendor contacts as well as key internal partners.
Scheduled Days:  Monday through Friday                  Hours:  12pm to 9pm

Position Description

  • Administer and monitor ongoing business processes. Drive performance to documented SOP's resulting in performance at targeted level/goals. Report progress/performance.
  • Perform qualitative and quantities analysis using a variety of tools to solve transportation related business problems. Gather, consolidate, prepare and/or validate data for analysis. Relate findings to key business partners, drive improvements/implementation.
  • Administer planning metrics for programs and initiatives to measure business effectiveness and facilitate continuous improvement across the transportation function.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years prior office, distribution, warehouse or logistics experience. 
  • Proven Leadership in comparable environment with focus on business acumen, team-building, and strategic alignment with corporate goals. -Ability to learn new systems, inventory controls, and WMS administration. 
  • PC Skills: Working knowledge of MS Office Programs and Windows Programs.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written. 
  • Decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills are a must.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in the logistics area.
