The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for enhancing growth for True Value's key growth partners/accounts in the Midwest Market. Cultivates key executive contacts within accounts to create strong business relationships. Responsible for account profitability and growth with a concentration on handled purchases and new locations. In conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team, effectively develops business growth strategies and plans; develops options and solutions unique to each business to drive business performance and growth. Position Description
Serve as the principal liaison between the customer’s executive management team and True Value to build and enhance our business relationship. Recognize and rapidly respond to customer needs and competitor activities. Resolve problems, expedite solutions, and communicate relevant information as it pertains to Logistics, IT, Merchandising and Retail Operations.
Develop business strategies to improve profitability for the customer and True Value. Identify and convert sales opportunities from other suppliers (SOW). Recommend product assortments, specials and buy opportunities by partnering with customer’s buyers. Work closely with True Value Merchant/Buying Team to offer assortments focused on specific customer needs. Develop and analyze product mix and POS data, understand market trends, manage forecasting, prepare proposals, and make effective presentations to customers.
Coordinate and participate in customer’s shows and events including communication, planning, and follow-up with vendors.
Work closely with the Real Estate Team to provide consultative services to members that support future retail locations reflective of customers business planning efforts.
