We have an immediate need for a Senior Transportation Analyst. The Senior Analyst is responsible for combining a strong analytical skill set, process knowledge, while possessing overall functional knowledge with strong communication skills. This is demonstrated through the ongoing support of one or more key areas/relationships and/or projects within the transportation function. The Senior Analyst will develop and execute forward looking planning, analytical, and performance monitoring tools and manage projects to a desired outcome. Presenting recommendations and implementing performance standards and improvements is critical to the success of this role. The Senior Analyst will identify and execute ongoing transportation programs and projects that focus on improving service and lowering cost.

Responsible for managing an operational budget.

Position Description

  • Program Management - In partnership with Manager and overall strategy, responsible for day to day administration and oversight of a given mode /application and the associated service and financial performance of that area in alignment with functional goals. This includes the facilitation of monthly/quarterly business reviews
  • Projects - In partnership with key internal stakeholders, responsible for the identification, execution and implementation of projects focused on improving service and lowering cost across areas of focus (transportation mode)
  • Responsible to support ongoing commercial bid activity reviews for areas of focus including leading administrative aspect of bid activities including: pulling historical data, creating/analyzing baseline, supporting strategy development, carrier negotiations, ad hoc analysis, and program implementation
  • Responsible to utilize experience and communication skills to drive best transportation solutions evaluating cost/service in support of cross functional activities such as: emergency expedites, weather related emergencies, member facing emergencies, etc.
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned

Position Qualifications

Minimum Type and Years of Related Experience Required:

  • Three to five years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Small Parcel Programs is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of Federal and State transportation regulations
  • Skilled in MS Office products - MS Excel, Powerpoint and Word
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Superior analytical background/skills

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field (Merchandising, Supply Chain, Engineering) or equivalent experience
