Job Description

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for daily operations in the applicator / roller departments, maintaining a safe work environment, assuring efficient product flow, monitoring daily performance of associates, managing quality improvement, following company policy and procedures and ensuring each associate is aware of the policies.

Position Description

Supervise the day-to-day manufacturing operation to coordinate mixing, filling, packaging by by establishing priorities and sequences within equipment and manpower capabilities in order to complete the master schedule. Ensures compliance to environmental, productivity, quality and health & safety standards. Monitors housekeeping and corrects safety issues. Monitors employee performance and maintains work rules to ensure a high level of performance and works directly with associates to establish and foster strong working relationships to support and enhance work performance. Hire, train and discipline employees as required. Assist in the development of a training plan to ensure associates possess the knowledge and skill required to implement and maintain manufacturing objectives and Lean Manufacturing efforts. Ensures that standards and specifications are met on manufactured products. Works with the Q.C. and R&D labs to ensure product specifications, process, and formula cost improvements. Reviews reports and resolves operational filling, packaging, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Measure performance and utilization rates for equipment and personnel. Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Strives to increase productivity and efficiencies measuring their results.

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience • At least 2 years’ experience supervising a manufacturing operation. • Strong leadership, time management and organizational skills. • Mechanical ability and experience, and ability to utilize that knowledge in day to day operations is required. • Lean manufacturing exposure with a demonstrated knowledge of Lean tools. • Well-developed ability to use computer and software applications, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office product • Demonstrated ability to understand manufacturing within a fast paced automated environment. • Ability to communicate knowledge and ideas effectively in writing and verbally. • Proven ability to work with others and to be able to constructively resolve differences. • Ability to work around chemicals and wear personal protective equipment, including respirators
