True Value Company, one of the world's largest hardlines wholesalers with more than 4,400 independent retailers in over 60 countries, is looking for a Maintenance Repair Worker - 1st shift for our Distribution Center in Harvard, IL

Scheduled Days:     Monday through Friday

Scheduled Hours:    5am to 1pm

Starting Pay:           $18.00 to $25.00 per hour  *** based on experience and qualifications

The Maintenance Repair Worker performs repair functions and preventive maintenance in the areas of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, construction, and other tasks in support of warehouse operations. Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and equipment by performing the following duties

Position Description

• Performs maintenance service and repairs in several skills areas: plumbing, carpentry, machine servicing, electrical repairs, installations or vehicle servicing.

• Performs all work within established safety standards; is responsible for managing own work and work around others with utmost adherence to good safety practices avoiding injury, damage or cost to the company.

• May be required to provide estimates of time and material cost on various projects and activities.

• Requisitions supplies and equipment with appropriate approvals.

• Works with vendors to provide needed services, with appropriate approvals and within established time and budget parameters.

• Examines mechanical and electrical components for conveyor systems & packaging equipment to diagnose complex or difficult maitenance repairs or installations.

• Disasembles and repairs equipment within the facility (i.e. motors, gearboxes)

• Adjusts functional parts of mechanical devises as necessary.

• Maintains process and utility equipment by performing preventative inspections and adjustments.

• Performs specialty services, i.e., welding, plumbing, electrical wiring and electronic troubleshooting.

Position Qualifications

• 3 - 5 years of related experience in mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance required. Experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.

• Preventive Maintenance experience.

• Ability to work in a team environment.

• Must have the ability and be willing to learn to operate material handling equipment in an efficient and safe manner.

• Must have good attention to details.

•Ability to bend, climb, lift up to 25 lbs regularly, 50 lbs frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.

•Must be able to work over time, on holidays, weekends and respond to emergencies during nonscheduled work hours

• H.S. diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
