Job Description

True Value Company, one of the world's largest hardlines wholesalers with more than 4,400 independent retailers in over 60 countries, is looking for an Inventory Control Supervisor -1st shift at our Jonesboro, GA Distribution Center.

The Inventory Control Supervisor manages/reviews overall inventory levels for the Regional Distribution Center. Manages Inventory Control Department and workload necessary to maintain overall inventory integrity. Supports True Value Warehouse Management System (acronym ADS, Automated Distribution System). Includes training regarding ADS functionality for the RDC associates, supervisors, office personnel and operations management. Utilizes all systems and processes to research, correct, report and document all inventory variances.

Position Description

Responsibilities included but not limited to:


• Maintains daily accuracy of RDC inventory. Manages workflow and processes relating to inventory and inventory accuracy. Maintains accuracy on reserve locations, inbound and outbound transactions using various analytical PC based tools.


• Manages and supervises workload to complete Perpetual Inventory Cycle Count for each inventory year. Evaluates Cycle Count Data and review, approves and maintains accurate inventory adjustments daily.


• Provides guidance and supervision to several hourly inventory control clerks.


• Works closely with Office Manager, Operations Manager, Supervisors to ensure quality, accuracy of daily inventory and inventory related requirements.


• Engages in frequent communication with appropriate departments at Retail Support Center to ensure accuracy of inventory.


• Communicates and engages with Vendors as required to resolve inventory issues.


• Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills both written and oral.


• Proven leadership in a comparable environment.


• Capable of working holidays and weekends when operational requirements necessitate.


• Decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills are a must.


• PC skills including proficiency in use of WMS system, MS Access, Word & Excel.

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in the logistics industry.
