Reporting to the DVP, Talent and Rewards, this position will help design, implement and manage all aspects of the Company’s compensation processes that reflect compensation standards and methodologies, and support business objectives. This position will provide creative thinking, advice, job analysis and best practices to design compensation solutions that support and enable company success. Consult with all levels in the organization regarding pay management practices, competitive trends, organizational structure, and best practices.

Direct Report:

  • Compensation Analyst

Position Description

  • Ensures that True Value’s compensation programs are aligned with the overall business goals and objectives of the company in doing so, directly manages the design, implementation and administration of compensation programs including job evaluation, salary structure development and administration, and recognition programs
  • Responsible for broad-based incentive plans including sales incentive programs, gain-sharing and exempt plans including: design, implementation, administration, ongoing evaluation of effectiveness and recommendations for improvement
  • Partners with and provides a consultative approach to Business Partners and relevant clients to develop and execute local compensation solutions to meet the needs of daily operations and unique business situations
  • Benchmarks positions using salary surveys for developing and maintaining salary structures. Analyzes appropriate market data to develop point of view for new and existing positions
  • Responsible for the management, oversight & administration of merit, bonus planning, and severance process
  • Supervises the participation in, conducts and/or purchases exempt and non-exempt salary surveys to ensure compensation objectives are achieved

Position Qualifications

Work Experience:

  • Five to seven years of related experience required
  • Experience in designing compensation programs for both exempt and non-exempt associates, including working with union shops
  • Wholesale experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Finance, Business or equivalent work experience
